DeKALB – Northern Illinois football coach Rod Carey had plenty of praise for Boise State on Tuesday.
With the two Group of 5 powers preparing to square off in the Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 23, Carey had fond words for the Broncos, who are making their 14th consecutive bowl appearance.
“Boise is the benchmark for the Group of 5 teams,” he said. “What a great opportunity to play a team like that. That in itself should excite you. We have a ton of respect for them and how they’ve done it and how they go about it.
