The Northern Illinois women's soccer team had four shots on goal but lost 2-0 at Miami (Ohio) on Thursday.
Taylor Sarver, Allie Ingham, Kate Sanfilippo and Cassidy Page each had shots on goal for the Huskies, who finished with 10 shots.
“We need to do a better job clearing and box defending, that’s what it came down to today,” NIU coach John Ross said. “We defended well but they got that second ball twice and made us pay for it.”
Miami scored late in the first half and midway through the second.
After opening conference with a pair of wins, the Huskies (4-6-1, 3-2 in MAC West) went 1-2 on a three-game road trip – falling to Kent State and beating Ohio 2-1.
