The Northern Illinois women's basketball team picked the right time for its biggest comeback in program history.
Trailing by as much as 22 in the first half, the No. 4 seeded Huskies climbed back and stunned No. 5 Ohio with a 72-71 victory in a quarterfinal of the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The dramatic comeback sets up the Huskies for a semifinal against No. 8 seed Western Michigan at 11 a.m. Friday.
"In the locker room at halftime, we knew that we could come back," Northern Illinois senior guard Ally Lehman said about the Huskies, who trailed 41-24 at halftime.
