DeKALB – The Northern Illinois women's basketball team had a 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter against first-place Central Michigan.
Then it evaporated.
The Chippewas had a dominating fourth quarter and stole a 73-67 victory from the Huskies on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Convocation Center.
"From a coach's standpoint, you could see it – we got tentative," Northern Illinois coach Lisa Carlsen said. "We got some good shots and we didn't knock them down."
The Huskies (10-13 overall, 3-9 in MAC West) led 57-43 after three quarters against the MAC West-leading Chippewas (17-7 overall, 11-2 in MAC West).
