DeKALB – There would be no dramatics for the Northern Illinois women's basketball team against Kent State this time.
Instead, the Huskies ran the Golden Flashes off the floor in the third quarter.
Northern Illinois tied a season-high in points in a quarter and made 10 consecutive shots – many of which were layups – to distance itself in a 93-72 win over Kent State on Wednesday night at the NIU Convocation Center.
"I thought in the third quarter we got back to pushing the pace and getting opportunities in transition and that's obviously when we're at our best and when we make a push and make a run," Northern Illinois coach Lisa Carlsen said.
