NIU still mum on status of Cole as offensive coordinator

DeKALB – Despite reports claiming offensive Bob Cole has been fired and replaced, school officials would not comment officially on his status Monday, saying that nothing is official yet.

Reports have said that Cole would not return and that North Carolina State offensive line coach Mike Uremovich would replace him as the Huskies' offensive coordinator.

Cole has been on the Northern Illinois coaching staff since 2011 and was named the offensive coordinator in 2013. He was the quarterback coach since 2012, when Jordan Lynch took over as the Huskies' starter and had a highly successful two-year run that ended with Lynch being a Heisman Trophy finalist.
