The Northern Illinois softball team only completed one game of a doubleheader at Loyola, falling 9-6 on Wednesday to snap a 14-game winning streak for the Huskies.
In Game 1, the Huskies scored four runs in the top of the seventh behind a grand slam by senior catcher Emily Naegele, her 12th home run of the year. She's now three away from tying Kayti Grable's single-second record of 15, which she set last year.
Katie Lamich, Abby Howlett and Bekah Harnish each collected two hits for the Huskies.
Sophomore pitcher Tara Thacker took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs on seven hits in four innings.
