Junior Brian Sisler became the first member of the Northern Illinois baseball team to hit for the cycle since 2000, but the Huskies fell 15-13 at Belmont on Sunday.
Sisler went 4 for 6 with five RBIs and two runs, capping his cycle with a double in the seventh inning. The last player to hit for the cycle for the Huskies was catcher John Vanden Berg on March 18, 2000.
Despite the big day from Sisler, the Huskies dropped to 2-12 to start the season.
“Unfortunately, we came up short again today," Northern Illinois coach Mike Kunigonis said.
