Northern Illinois junior gymnast Jamyra Carter took 22nd place in the uneven parallel bars as the Huskies finished their season at the NCAA Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Saturday.
Carter posted a score of 9.775 and senior teammate Lauren Africano placed (9.550). While four members of the team participated on the day – including Carter, Africano, junior Megan Greenfield (9.700 on beam for 25th place) and sophomore Andie Van Voorhis (9.700 on vault for 25th place) – the Huskies also sent two alternates in Ashley Potts and Anna Martucci. The six gymnasts were the most the Huskies have ever sent to the NCAA Regionals.
