Freshman William Anderson pitched six strong innings and the Northern Illinois baseball team beat Belmont 4-1 on Friday.
Anderson (1-1) picked up his first collegiate win by allowing seven hits and one run while striking out two. Ryne Blanton earned the save by throwing three scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out four.
Brad Wood and Brian Sisler each went 4 for 5 for the Huskies (2-10) on the day, with Sisler recording two RBIs.
