The Northern Illinois baseball team remained undefeated in conference play by crushing Bowling Green, 11-0, in the Huskies home opener on Friday in DeKalb.
The Huskies (8-17 overall, 4-0 in Mid-American Conference West) collected 14 hits on the day, led by second baseman Samuel Vega, who went 4 for 5 with four runs and a solo homer. First baseman Tommy Hook was a perfect 3 for 3 with a run and an RBI and designated hitter Jesus Tovar and catcher Jacob Dunham each collected two hits.
“We had good at bats all game and got big hits when we needed them,” Northern Illinois coach Mike Kunigonis said.
