DeKALB – A season ago, Northern Illinois men's soccer coach Eric Luzzi brought in 14 new players – looking to expand the roster and fill missing voids.
On National Signing Day on Tuesday, he only brought in two – sophomore defender Nicholas Haas and freshman midfielder Ethan Pitre.
"We knew from the beginning, this was going to be a small class," said Luzzi, whose Huskies went 7-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the Mid-American Conference last season. "We had a very specific and targeted needs, we feel really good with (Haas and Pitre) and a few players that we're still working on, it will compliment our team.
