The Northern Illinois men's soccer team announced the hiring of Jesse Miech as an assistant coach on Thursday.
Miech comes to the Huskies after spending the previous five seasons as the head coach of Illinois Springfield (Division II). In 2013, Miech led UIS to eight victories, which was its best season at Division II. He was also an assistant coach at Saint Louis, Missouri State and Clemson. Miech replaces former associate head coach Garrett Biller, who took a position with US Soccer.
“When I knew that we would be looking for a new assistant coach, I had a very specific profile of the kind of experience I wanted this person to have,” Northern Illinois head coach Eric Luzzi.
