The Ohio men's basketball team shot better than 60 percent from the floor in the first half and build a big enough lead to hold onto an 80-69 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday in Athens.
The Huskies (16-7 overall, 5-5 in Mid-American Conference West) have now lost four games in a row – all by at least 10 points.
“Ohio came out smoking, they shot unbelievable (in the first half), it was a tale of two halves,” Northern Illinois coach Mark Montgomery of the Bobcats, who shot 60.6 percent in the first half. “Their start, 60 percent (shooting) in the first half, I don’t think we have defended that poorly all season, but credit their guys, they were making plays.
