DeKALB – Northern Illinois men's basketball coach Mark Montgomery has liked what he's seen from freshman guard Justin Thomas.
Now the freshman guard is going to be the starter through at least Christmas.
Thomas was one of six Huskies in double figures and made the most of his second consecutive start as Northern Illinois eventually distanced itself from Olivet Nazarene (NAIA) in a 95-69 win on Wednesday night at the NIU Convocation Center.
Thomas, a 5-foot-11 guard from Indianapolis, had 11 points on 5 for 7 shooting with five assists and three rebounds and started his second straight game, as sophomore guard Laytwan Porter was not with the team after breaking a team rule.
