DeKALB – Northern Illinois men's basketball coach Mark Montgomery said he wanted to spark the Huskie offense by inserting freshman guard Marshawn Wilson into the starting lineup before the game against Akron last week.
So far, so good.
The Huskies started out hot from the field again in Wilson's second start and they cruised to a 71-60 win over Bowling Green on Tuesday night at the NIU Convocation Center.
Wilson, who came into the game tied for third on the team in scoring (11.1 per contest) despite starting nearly the entire season on the bench, finished with 12 points on the night – all in the first half – and was 3 for 3 from three.
