DeKALB – Maybe the Northern Illinois men's basketball team should have taken their free throws from the 3-point line.
The Huskies were deadly from deep in an 80-69 win over Ball State at the NIU Convocation Center on Friday night, giving them 20 wins in a season for the first time since 1995-96.
"I am just so proud of the guys because they are one of not many teams to get 20 wins at this university and it's a big step in the right direction," Northern Illinois coach Mark Montgomery said of the Huskies' fourth 20-win season in school history.
