DeKALB – Kent State senior Jimmy Hall came out on top in the battle between two of the best bigs in the Mid-American Conference.
Hall posted a double-double while Northern Illinois senior big man Marin Maric was held to just three field goal attempts and the Golden Flashes held onto their second half lead for a 73-66 victory over the Huskies on Tuesday night at the NIU Convocation Center.
The Huskies (12-8 overall, 4-3 in MAC West) led by one in the second half when freshman guard Eugene German hit a runner to make it 41-40 with 16:30 remaining, but Kent State (11-9 overall, 3-4 in MAC East) went on a 6-0 run with three layups to go ahead for good.
