DeKALB – Northern Illinois freshman Levi Bradley walked to the free-throw line in a one-possession game twice in the final 20 seconds.
He sank both free throws each time.
While Bradley was magnificent in his first Mid-American Conference tournament game, the rest of the Huskies' highly-praised freshman class struggled in the 56-50 win over Western Michigan on Monday.
The Huskies improved to 21-11 on the season, tied for the second most wins in a season for a Northern Illinois men's basketball team with the 1971-72 squad.
Marshawn Wilson, who was named to the MAC all-freshman team earlier in the day on Monday, finished with three points and was 1 for 9 from the floor.
