DeKALB – The Huskies got excellent play from their bench and an outstanding performance from center Marin Maric and defeated the Roosevelt Lakers 85-52 to remain unbeaten at home this season and hold on the first place in the MAC West.
The Lakers were shooting well, hitting their first three 3-pointers, and were able to hang with the Huskies for a good part of the first half. But twelve first half points by Marin Maric and some late help off the bench by Andrew Zelis padded the Huskie lead to 47-29 at the half. Maric scored nine of the Huskies’ first twelve points, and even hit his first 3-pointer of the year en route to a season high twenty-two point performance.
