The NIU men's basketball team withstood a late UIC run, not to mention 27 fouls, in a 70-65 win over the Flames on Tuesday.
Travon Baker led the Huskies (10-2) with 20 points, while Michael Orris had nine assists. Three Huskies had four fouls in the game while three Flames fouled out. One UIC player also ended with four fouls as the Flames were called for 28 fouls.
The Huskies used an early 10-0 run to build a 12-4 lead and never trailed after being down 4-2. The Flames (2-9) got the lead down to three on a three-point play by Dikembe Dixson with 58 seconds left, but Baker answered with the last seven Huskies points, all from the line.
