DeKALB – After nearly every time the Toledo football team scored against Northern Illinois last season, Aregeros Turner responded with a strong kickoff return for the Huskies.
Turner, who would end up being the Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Year, gave the his offense life to help Northern Illinois stay in the game until the Huskies came away with a dramatic 32-27 road win over their rival after losing starting quarterback Drew Hare.
"Whenever I'm back there, it's because the (opposing) offense just scored, so when I'm back there I have the mentality that I have to give the offense a spark," Turner said.
