CHICAGO – The streak is over.
After making a bowl game in eight consecutive seasons, barring something truly strange the Huskies will not make the postseason after falling 31-24 to Toledo on a last-minute touchdown Wednesday night in the first football game played at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.
Toledo senior running back Kareem Hunt scored on a 2-yard run with 1:15 remaining to give the Rockets their first win over Northern Illinois since 2009.
"I told them in the locker room that I was extremely proud of them," Northern Illinois coach Rod Carey said about the Huskies after the loss.
