DeKALB – There was a sign of things to come last year in the Huskie Bowl.
On the third play of the Northern Illinois football team's intersquad scrimmage in 2015, little-known cornerback Shawun Lurry intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to help Team Black beat Team Cardinal, 21-0.
This spring, Lurry was the No. 1 pick of the game's draft and will look to lead Team Cardinal in the Huskie Bowl, which kicks off around 2:30 p.m. after the team takes the field at 2 p.m. – with plenty of festivities to be had near the stadium.
