NIU football: Lewis, Ford sign with NFL teams as undrafted free agents

The Northern Illinois football team didn't have a player selected in the NFL Draft, but two former Huskies are headed to pro teams.

Wide receiver Tommylee Lewis signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent and defensive end Perez Logan signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Lewis, a 5-foot-7 receiver who was an All-American his junior year in 2013, dealt with multiple injuries in 2015, finishing with 34 catches for 398 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints, who finished 7-9 in 2015, had the top passing attack in the NFL last season behind quarterback Drew Brees.
