NIU football: Huskies to keep all ticket revenue up to $500k for game at U.S. Cellular Field

The experiment of playing at U.S. Cellular Field this coming season could end up being a nice payday for the Northern Illinois football team.

According to the agreement between Northern Illinois and the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority – the owner of U.S. Cellular Field – the school will retain all ticket revenue up to $500,000. If the revenue surpasses that mark, Northern Illinois and the ISFA will evenly split the revenue.

During the six home games at Huskie Stadium last season, Northern Illinois drew an average attendance of 13,942 with an average revenue of $228,773.67.
