DeKALB – The sound of coaches yelling out instructions, quarterbacks barking out their cadences and music blasting from the PA system filled the air in Huskie Stadium.
Football is back at Northern Illinois.
The Huskies opened up their two-week training camp on a muggy Sunday afternoon without pads – the real football will have to wait until the first full-pads practice on Thursday.
"It's always exciting when football season starts and camp starts," junior safety Brandon Mayes said. "Everybody's excited because we've been waiting since last season to get back on the field. It's good to come out here and be around the team and play football.
