DeKALB – Iron sharpens iron for the Northern Illinois football team.
A year after they each had a breakout season that gave them national attention, wide receiver Kenny Golladay and cornerback Shawun Lurry frequently find themselves battling in practice as the Huskies have kicked off training camp this week with the first practice with shoulder pads on Tuesday.
"Going up against Kenny is crazy – big, tall receiver, strong hands, runs routes good," Lurry said. "Going up against Kenny helps me out when I go against other top receivers that are tall and fast and have strong hands like Kenny.
