GENEVA – Chandler Harnish put Northern Illinois football on the map with his arm and legs.
Despite having his playing days in the past, the former dual-threat quarterback used both at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark on Thursday night.
Scheduled to throw out the first pitch for the Kane County Cougars, Harnish was stuck in the passenger seat during pregame traffic and simply got out and ran to the field in time to deliver a strike to a cheering crowd at NIU Night.
"I was incredibly nervous," Harnish said. "I hadn't thrown a baseball in years so I was incredibly nervous walking out there, but it seemed like it went okay.
