Beginning on Monday, Northern Illinois senior Anthony Maddie has switched to practicing and taking reps as a wide receiver, Northern Illinois coach Rod Carey said on Tuesday.
Maddie has spent his entire time with the Huskies as a quarterback – including training camp up until this week – but his season-ending back injury last year, coupled with a strong performance by backup Ryan Graham during the 2015 season, has sent him down the depth chart.
"He's a senior and he wants to get on the field and we felt this was the best way for him to get on the field," Carey said.
