DEKALB – Northern Illinois freshman guard Eugene German averaged 33.5 points per game as a senior in high school.
He scored two in his Northern Illinois opener against Indiana State.
However, the highly touted guard got back to scoring double-digits in a lopsided 99-55 win against over-matched Roosevelt (NAIA) on Monday night at the NIU Convocation Center.
German, who was a three-star recruit out of 21st Century Charter in Gary, Indiana and led the state in scoring his junior and senior seasons, made his first four shots and finished with 14 points in 19 minutes on 5 for 7 shooting, including 2 for 3 from the 3-point line against the Ramblers.
