NIU baseball: Fletcher red-hot for Huskies, but pitching struggling

DeKALB – Murray State couldn't get Northern Illinois leadoff hitter Justin Fletcher out.

Well, they at least got him out four times in 22 tries.

During the wacky, run-filled series with the Racers, Fletcher led off an inning on seven occasions, reached base in each of them and had a staggering four games that earned him MAC West Player of the Week honors. The teams combined to score 115 runs – 71 by Murray State, 44 by the Huskies – Fletcher hit 14 for 17 (.824), with eight runs, seven RBIs and six doubles, three walks, a hit by pitch and a sacrifice fly.
