DeKALB – Northern Illinois starting pitcher William Anderson had two outs with nobody on in the top of the seventh inning in a one-run game against Buffalo.
By the time the Huskies got to bat in the bottom half of the inning, they were down by five.
The Bulls used a big inning late to provide some cushion and they defeated the Huskies 7-2 on a sunny Friday afternoon at Ralph McKenzie Field.
It was by far the roughest outing in conference play for Anderson, who came into the contest 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA in his four starts against Mid-American Conference foes.
