DeKALB — Men’s tennis won its first Mid-American Conference matchup of the season with a dominant 6-1 victory over Binghamton University Thursday in Rockford.
First-year Mikko Malinen and sophomore Victor Spolidorio took the first doubles match, defeating juniors Kushaan Nath and Tiago Lourenco 6-1 to put NIU ahead early.
Seniors Eric Marbach and Erich Schuette secured the doubles point for the Huskies with another 6-1 victory over senior Inigo Saez and first-year Dylan Friedman.
First-year David Pata and junior Bor Schweiger Muzar were down 3-5 against Binghamton senior Ludovico Cestarollo and sophomore Alejandro Pena.
