Men's basketball unable to maintain late lead

DeKALB — Men’s basketball fell victim to a 19-0 run from the Ball State University Cardinals, resulting in a comeback overtime win for the Cardinals, 81-72.

The Huskies (14-12, 6-7 Mid-American Conference) went on a scoring drought for nearly 11 minutes in the second half and overtime. NIU did not score a field goal in this time span while the Cardinals (16-10, 7-6 MAC) went on the scoring run to tie the game and eventually take the lead.

Head Coach Mark Montgomery said he thought the team did a good job at putting themselves in position to win the game but mistakes down the stretch costed them the win.
