DeKALB – Three stops. Three scores. Northern Illinois men's basketball coach Mark Montgomery challenged his Huskies to accomplish that Saturday against NCAA Division II opponent Illinois-Springfield.
For a short while to start the second half, the Huskies were able to fulfill their coach's request.
A 13-2 run by the Northern Illinois men's basketball team to start the second half was pretty much the difference in the Huskies' 77-62 win over the Prairie Stars on Saturday.
"You come out at halftime and you challenge them," NIU coach Mark Montgomery said. "We were only up three. I thought we were playing to the level our competition.
