Northern Illinois University sophomore cornerback Shawun Lurry has been named a second team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as votedon by FBS head coaches and athletics communications contacts and were announced Thursday night.
Lurry, who leads the nation with nine interceptions in 2015, is just the second player in NIU history to be named an All-American by Walter Camp voters. The only previous Huskie to earn the award was LeShon Johnson, who was a first-team selection in 1993.
“He deserves it,” NIU coach Rod Carey said. “We’re really happy for Shawun. He had a very good year.
