DeKALB — The track and field team won the Grand Valley State University Lints Alumni open in Allendale Michigan Saturday. Junior multi-event runner Remy Amarteifio and senior jumper Jehvania Whyte delivered Mid-American Conference Championship-qualifying marks at the meet.
Whyte delivered a winning performance in the triple jump. Her mark of 12.70 meters won the event and was over a meter higher than the second-place mark of 11.45 meters by Grand Valley State junior jumper Alex Reeves.
Whyte earned multiple honors in 2018, including the NCAA Indoor Triple Jump All-American, Outdoor Triple Jump All-American and the 2018 MAC Indoor Championships Most Outstanding Field Performer.
