DeKALB -- The baseball team lost its road game Tuesday to the instate rival Illinois State Tuesday 10-2.
The Huskies were down just 3-1 in the sixth until the Redbirds scored six runs to leap out ahead. Head Coach Mike Kunigonis said the inning cost the team in the end.
“One tough inning allowed this game to get away from us," Kunigonis said. "We had some opportunities early to extend our lead but couldn't capitalize. We need to be better with those opportunities.”
Junior infielder Dylan Lonteen scored the first run of the game with an RBI triple to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
