DeKALB – On Wednesday, the Ohio men's basketball team saw a different Marin Maric than last season.
The Huskie big man notched another double-double and Northern Illinois pulled away late in an 80-69 win over the Bobcats in the Mid-American Conference opener at NIU Convocation Center.
"He's so much more poised with the ball in his hands," Ohio coach Saul Phillips said of Maric, who finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds on 7 for 11 shooting – including a pair of 3-pointers. "We got one double against him that was worth a darn. He seems very in control with him and the impact goes behind the stat sheet.
