Cassidy Glenn came up with a clutch basket in the final minute and the Northern Illinois picked up a 65-58 victory in the conference opener at Akron on Saturday.
Glenn, who finished with nine points on the day, connected on a shot with 45 seconds remaining that gave the Huskies a 62-58 lead and they made enough free throws down the stretch to hold on for their first victory in a MAC opener on the road since 2009.
Northern Illinois junior guard Ally Lehman notched another double-double, scoring 24 points on 9 for 17 shooting and had 16 rebounds in the win.
