Northern Illinois All-American Shawun Lurry is one of 88 defensive players named to the 2016 Nagurski Award Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced today.
Lurry, who was a first-team All-America selection by the FWAA, a second-team selection by the Walter Camp Foundation, and a third-team honoree by the Associated Press, led the nation in interceptions with nine in 2015. He burst on the national scene in NIU’s 20-13 setback at Ohio State when he picked off three Buckeye passes in the game.
Lurry set the school records for interception return yards in a season and career with 273.
