A 90-77 loss at Western Michigan on Saturday didn't keep the Northern Illinois women's basketball team from earning a first-round bye in the Mid-American Conference tournament.
The Huskies (19-10 overall, 12-6 conference) earned the No. 4 seed in the tourney, even though they tied with Toledo and Ohio. NIU will face either the Bobcats or Eastern Michigan on Wednesday afternoon in Cleveland.
They'll be heading into the tourney having lost four of five after the loss to the Broncos (17-12, 8-10). The Huskies led for on 2:35 of the game, all in the first quarter. They never got closer than seven in the fourth.
