KENT, Ohio -- Khaliq Spicer scored 17 points and Galal Cancer hit two free throws with 7 seconds left to lift Kent State to a 75-74 win over Northern Illinois on Tuesday night.
The Golden Flashes snapped a three-game losing streak and moved into a second-place tie with Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference East Division.
Kent State held a nine-point lead with 1:25 left in the game, but the Huskies scrambled to get back in the game. Travon Baker hit two free throws and Aaric Armstead knocked down two 3-pointers to get Northern Illinois within one and Brown hit a jumper with 15 seconds left to give the Huskies the lead, 74-73, but committed the foul that sent Cancer to the line.
