Basketball blows 4th quarter lead

DeKALB | Women’s basketball (2-1) fell short, 83-79, against the Western Illinois University Leathernecks (3-1) to record its first loss of the season.

The Huskies led the game 77-73 with less than a minute remaining in the second half when the Leathernecks went on an 8-0 run fueled by a defensive effort from Michelle Farrow, Western Illinois junior guard, who recorded two steals and hit two free throws with six seconds remaining.

Freshman guard Janae Poisson hit a pair of free throws to cut the Leathernecks lead to two with three seconds remaining in the game.
