DeKALB — The baseball team struggled Tuesday against the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames, as it lost 17-3.

“We need to forget about this game and get ready for the weekend series against Kent State,” said Head Coach Mike Kunigonis, according to NIU Media Services. “We did see some solid things today from individuals that we will look to build on.”

The Huskies (9-23, 5-4 Mid-American Conference) gave up five runs in the second and eighth inning in a game that was 10-2 by the end of the third inning.

UIC’s (21-8, 6-5 Horizon) junior catcher Tom Calabrese hit two, three-run home runs, both coming in the five-run innings, and had eight RBIs on the day.
