MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Perrin Buford scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his first career double-double, and Middle Tennessee dominated the second half to take an 86-64 win over North Texas on Thursday night.
Buford was 7 of 10 from the floor and pulled down six offensive rebounds for Middle Tennessee (13-5, 5-1 Conference USA), which has won five straight. Reggie Upshaw had his 11th career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Giddy Potts added 12 points and Quavius Copeland had 11.
Trailing 37-36 early in the second period, Potts had a layup and followed with a trey to start the Blue Raiders on a 16-2 run and a 52-39 advantage with 13:54 left.
