DENTON -- Mason Fine threw for a career-high four touchdowns as North Texas rolled over UTEP 45-10 on Saturday to clinch the Conference USA West title and keep the Miners winless on the season.
North Texas (7-3, 6-1) will play in the conference championship game on Dec. 2.
Fine was 23-of-35 passing for 213 yards. He twice hit Jaelon Darden with scoring tosses in the first half for a 14-7 lead. He nailed Rico Bussey Jr. in stride for a 60-yard touchdown pass to go up 28-10 with 5:19 left in the third quarter.
Jeffery Wilson, who had 144 yards rushing on 20 carries, had his 14th rushing touchdown of the season, tying his career high, set last year.
