DENTON -- Louisiana Tech spoiled one of the most memorable days in North Texas football history Saturday.
The Mean Green unveiled a statue of program legend "Mean" Joe Greene before kickoff and broke ground on its new $16 million indoor practice facility.
UNT was aiming for another milestone -- its first 5-0 start since 1959.
The Bulldogs made sure the Mean Green didn't get there.
Louisiana Tech scored 20 unanswered points in the second quarter and made a host of big plays down the stretch to hang on for a 29-27 win in front of 30,150 fans.
