Crowds of people spent the day at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill to take in the partial solar eclipse. By midafternoon, the moon started to pass in front of the sun, fascinating the crowd gathered in front of the planetarium. “This is the place to be for astronomy in the Triangle,” said Nick Eakes, an astronomy educator with the planetarium.
